Dr. Josan grew up in Canada in Fonthill, Pelham in a small farming community as a son of a farmer and a florist. He grew up with Shepherds and surrounded by a loving community of dairy farmers. After graduating high school with honors, his passion for animals and animal welfare led him to attend GADVASU, India for his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, through which he aided local farmers in India with large animals, equine and pet medicine.

Upon completion, Dr. Josan moved back to his home town of Fonthill, Pelham. He obtained his license to practice in both Canada and the United States  through the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates at the Viticus Veterinary Center in Las Vegas. Dr. Josan also attended The University of Michigan for his training in Small Animal Anesthesiology and Analgesia. Dr Josan is pleased to work with clients to provide the utmost care to their loved ones and has interests in anesthesiology,  pain management, internal medicine, dentistry, dermatology and preventative medicine.

When not working, Dr. Josan enjoys gardening, movie marathon nights and spending quality time with loved ones and family.

Dr. Higgins was born and raised in Modesto CA, she then moved away for school. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science with a Pre-Vet concentration from California Poly SLO. This was followed by her DVM achieved after having attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, with her clinical year having been completed at Colorado State University. Dr. Higgins currently has partial completion of her acupuncture license from the Chi Institute, (TCVM) and will be attending rehab training and certification in the next year. Dr. Higgins enjoys acupuncture, rehabilitation, sports medicine, as well as nutrition having taken additional courses in each of these fields. She enjoys working with the community k9 units and hopes to further foster relationships with our furry protectors and their handlers. She was a veterinary technician for years prior to vet school. A fun fact about Dr. Higgins, is that she was a trained professional opera singer, dancer, and dance instructor. Dr. Higgins has been working with the incredible team at Modesto Family Pet since August 2021. Now that Dr. Higgins is home, she is ecstatic to spend more time with her wonderful niece and nephew. She currently owns 3 Pomeranians, Nala, Micha Mia, and Little Bear (his nickname – his birth name was Simba). She also used to be a fur mom to a horse named Royal, however he was not healthy enough for the move from Colorado to California, and is retired with a colleague from clinics. On her free time she loves ballroom dance and she used to coach her team in undergrad, and that is one of the things she is looking forward to participating in once COVID is under control. Dr. Higgins is ecstatic to have the opportunity to help serve the community, and their furbabies, where she grew up
